This causes breakage for programs that compile with -ansi or -std=c89:

$ cat > test.c << EOF
#include <sys/param.h>
#include <sys/sysctl.h>
int main(void) { return 0; }
EOF
$ gcc -ansi -o test test.c

                 from test.c:2:
/usr/include/sys/lwp.h:200: error: expected '=', ',', ';', 'asm' or
'__attribute__' before 'void'
