Since we have SCSI1, SCSI2, and SCSI3 devices, I think it makes sense to
always print the version.

Especially as whatever reason we have for not printing SCSI2 now (I assume
it's a simplification) will probalby match SCSI3 at some future date. At
that date, we will either start printing SCSI2 and not SCSI3, or we won't.
If we do, then we will have to remember what version kernel we have so we
know what version "nothing mentioned" means. If we don't make the change,
then we aren't being consistent with our previous motivations.
