Unfortunately, the driver really isn't up to scratch yet. I just updated my 
synaptics touchpad equipped laptop to -current to find the mouse pad response 
utterly sucks. Slow movements are jerky, while double-tap has the side-effect 
of shifting the mouse pointer up and to the right by ~50 pixels.

In short, it's unusable.

I'm on vacation this week, so I may be able to find some time to look into 
this, but don't count on it.
