Does anyone know where to find some generic code for driving USB lines? 
Several of the bridge chips we are using now appear to be 8051 controllers 
with some built in firmware. If I could roll my own USB controller, I could 
  consoldate several parts into one.

I know this is not on topic for this list, but this list is pretty active 
with embedded developers.
