I'm sorry but i'm new here so If this isn't the ocrrect lsit to ask
please let me know, my BSD box is only a few hours old.

Vanilla BSD on it's own works fine but after finally getting Xfree86 to
work I am getting odd behaviour out of my xterms, I believe it to be a
Terminal type problem but setenv TERM doesn't seem to have made any
difference.

Problem: xterm seems to print tabs instead of spaces or returns. ie if i
press retrun at the prompt four times I get:

palpatine#
         palpatine#
                   palpatine#
                             palpatine#

And don't even ask what a ps or an ls -sl look like because they are
unbearable. 

I know this question should probably be addressed to an X mailing list
but i can't find one.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
