2.9 doesn't support dynamic linking, but 3.4 appears to do so, at least
to support extensions.  I don't know if it'll be sufficient for your
needs.  I don't think it'd be too difficult to add to 2.*.  siod is
still the smallest Scheme implementation I know of.
