I don't think everybody should suffer a substantially slower install
just because one class of machine might not work right..

It's better to define some option (PCIIDE_PIIX_DONT_MATCH or something)
and enable it in INSTALL, so that chipsets that have these problems
are not matched by pciide, and they will fall back to wdc at isa.

However, suppose you get this to work, what about GENERIC? It's cool
to be able to finish the install, but if your system won't work
afterwards that doesn't help much either.
