:)OK, I'll update these. I also have .hqx (TEXT/BnHq), .gz (TEXT/GNUz), .tgz
:)(TEXT/GNUz).

Those are probably better off as .hqx (TEXT/SITx), .gz (Gzip/SITx), and
.tgz (Gzip/SITx). This is because almost everyone has StuffIt Expander
which wil extract these filetypes. Also by having .gz and .tgz as
non-TEXT, things work better. When you try copying a file with type TEXT
from a non-HFS volume, MacOS tries to be smart and convert the LF/CR to
just CR.

:)I had originally set up .txt as TEXT/ttxt, presuming that better text
:)readers might `take over' that creator ID, but I'll put MOSS in there
:)instead.

That's not how it works in MacOS < X. If the real creator isn't present,
it will prompt the user to find another program. If you try opening a file
that's too large for SimpleText (> 32 KB), it'll just say it's too large
and not offer any options.

:): If you set up ofwboot.xcf right, you should be able to boot Open Firmware 3
:): systems from CD-R by simply holding down the 'c' key during boot.
:)
:)[!!!] Had I known this, it'd have been set up that way from the get-go.
:)I'll make sure the next ISOs for macppc include the correct creator/type for
:)ofwboot.

'Sokay. Things are always rushed at the last minute. Actually, that just
makes writing the docs harder since I have all the "how to enter Open
Firmware" and "how to figure out your boot command" before the "how to
start the installer". Everything would be out of order if I said to just
hold down 'c'.

:)Although, would this have the usual problem of not finding the right kernel
:)name (netbsd.macppc)? Something to try....

Right. Let me know if you want me to test a new CD image.

:): BTW, the NetBSD/macppc 1.5.1 CD image has all of the files with creator
:): nbsd. While that's kinda cool, it'd probably be better if they were MSIE,
:): MOSS, or ttxt.
:)
:)The hfsmap.lst defaults for unknown extensions (those which weren't .hqx,
:).tzt, .ps, .gz, or .tgz) are "nbsd"; the list you gave above should help
:)clarify them in future ISOs.

Not quite -- none of those files have any of those extensions!

The CD's HFS partition has:
