Generating disk images for the hpc ports as per evbarm

Hello,
I started looking into adapting the hpcarm port to generate a gzipped
image similar to the evbarm image during the release build process with
a look to extend that to the other hpc ports.
I initially copied the src/distrib/evbarm/gzboot directory to the hpcarm
directory & tried to build a release but this broke the build
with the following error: "don't know how to make release. Stop"

I had modified src/distrib/evbarm/gzboot/gzimg/Makefile to remove the
arm board references from other ports, replacing it with the JORNADA720
kernel details.

After rempoving the gzboot I added a file in
src/distrib/utils/embedded/conf derived from the evbarm.conf & tried
rolling a hpcarm release but that did not produce a gzipped image.

What are the requirement to instruct the build process to generate an
image for a port??
