Point of information:
The alpha port uses a "guessed multiplier trick."
I took the number in the Mach port of the Alpha, scaled it by the
speed of the machine i was developing on / the speed of the machine
they developed for, and used that.
In the future, the Alpha port will either:
(1) use a calibrated delay loop
(2) use the Alpha's Process Cycle Counter
to do reasonably delay timing.
(Both methods are more or less equivalent, it's just a matter of
how i end up implementing it... 8-)
