This is not correct. You can already eject DAT tapes using 'mt offline'.
However overloading 'mt offline' for use with disks is probably not a
good idea. (It's counterintuitive and the remaining mt commands don't
make sense to use with a disk.)

PS: It may be argueable that eject should be able to eject DAT (and other
    such tapes) anyway.
