Well I won't be throwing it out by I don't mind having the patch my kernels
when I build them. I should perhaps see if there is a new version of the
firmwear available.
On the subject of SCSI specs, I believe they indicate the optical drives like
my PD drive are not expected to support the mode sense page 4 (geometry)
thus the sd_get_parms() function should not try and read it as it will fail and
should just fake the geometry.
Ok the it will currently fake the geometry but for some reason the message
about the read of mode sense page 4 failing as an illegal command drives me
mad :-)
