Is anyone actively working on trying to fix the problem with processes
that won't die?  The problem has surfaced during the last few weeks,
possibly due to the VM fixes.  Here's a typical ps entry for such a 
process:

    0   308     1   0 -18  0   704  656 thrd_s DE   p1-   0:04.58 slogin dogber

I can recreate this problem with 100% success.
