NetBSD-current does not yet support SMP. Work is underway
to implement kernel threads, which are mostly running, AFAIK.
SMP will be built on to of them.

This approach was taken, because the developers thought
that this approach would yield a cleaner design than
first getting SMP to run and then implement kernel
threads later.

P.S.: No, I don't have any time frame as to when SMP
