Hi,

I sent that PR in a while ago, and I'd like to ask someone who has
commit access to comment and perhaps commit it, or something close
to it which fixes the bug.

I have a large vested interest in this working in 1.4.  I have
tested the patch out against 1.3.1 only, but a decent amount, and
am going to test it on 1.4_ALPHA, in the near future.
