There will be open revolt if anyone seriously proposes removing the
ability to build monolithic kernels from netbsd..

There are a number of environments where there is a strong requirement
for monolithic kernel support (many embedded environments, for
instance); also, having done significant kernel development under both
monolithic and loadable-module-based systems, I have to say that I
prefer debugging monolithic kernels, particularly when I have to make
sweeping cross-module interface changes..
