Just to revisit this (because I still have a heap of patches in my
source tree), it seems like a hw.cpu_isa sysctl _isn't_ a preferred way
of selecting shared libraries at least on some architectures. Is the
sysctl itself useful to keep for any other reasons, or shall I just toss
the whole lot into the bit bucket?
