Hi,
I have quite severe performance problems with ep(4) at MCA (3c529, driver
not in tree yet). As 3c529 should be just MCA variant of 3c509,
there should not be any performance difference theoretically.
I see speeds like 100KB/s on slow 386DX machine at best, but sometimes
as low as 5KB/s and lots of 'packet overrun' errors. For comparison,
3c523 on same machine gets like 320KB/s. The performance problem
is probably caused by only 8KB of card memory (3c523 has 16KB).
Are there any people with 3c509 ISA ? What is the performance people
get for it or other cards using ep(4) driver ?
Jaromir
