is there *anybody* out there who has an overview of the various and wonderful
ac97 related source files in our tree, and what's compatible with what,
etc? [1]

I have a ac97 + fifo-pair-pretending-to-be-DMA-to-it board here, and want to
avoid getting confused about which file to copy and modify, and which to
refer to, etc.

ad1848 experience, so I figured out asking first might be wise.
