I do that already in some cases.
   
   These are disjoint things. If scrollback is going to be added to the baseline
   wscons driver then it should be done in a way which is most useful. Just 
   because there's a pkgsrc package which does similiar things is really just
   tangental to all of this.


it isn't really similar -- you can't use screen scroll back on your *console*
device, particularly to see, eg, the kernel boot messages.  but wasn't someone
already working on this in a way that preserved scrollback on multiple VT's,
etc. ?
