   Uhmm - are there any ports where old ELF binaries might exist that are not
   properly marked? Is there any usefull application for this catch-all?
   
   At least I would make it an option and default that to off, no matter what
   other OSs do.


a sysctl option would be best, so one could "fix" it on the fly.
