Yes - parsing the extended partion list is also useful,
so the [1-4] is actually [1-n].

The current practise of the contents of the BSD label (at the start of the
bsd partition) referencing parts of the disk outside that partition is
horrid.

It certainly makes naive users have problems finding their dos partitions
- never mind anyone trying to nbe 'clever'.

I've not installed solaris '86, does it sit inside a single partition?
(Unixware certainly does). Knowledge of the alien pbr would make accessing
filesystems on these sort of multi-boot sustems much safer!
