Maybe someone should consider nameing disks, and identifying them that
   way - rather than by physical position in the system.


we already have this feature in the kernel, BTW:  raidframe
single-side "mirrors" with autoconfiguration.  i keep meaning
to set it up on some of my systems.. at least for the boot
disk.  as little as 2 days ago i screwed myself by attaching
a lower-scsi-id-numbered disk to an ss20 and rebooting...
