I don't like more complicated filters in-kernel - we DO report, among
others, available kernel-supported sample rates so that the userland softwa=
re
can choose an algorithm that produces good data at that frequency...

btw, I'm not opposed to providing mono-stereo conversion per se, but for=20
a the non-DMA hardware, this can be more efficiently hidden inside the
output routine...
