My PostgreSQL database server is currently running on
FreeBSD. I am considering moving to NetBSD; but I
need to reconfigure the kernel.
Hardware: 900MHz AMD Thunderbird with 1.5GB RAM,
1.5GB Swap
Current changes to FreeBSD kernel:
options SHMMAXPGS=10000
options SHMMNI=100
options SHMSEG=256
options SEMMNI=256
options SEMMNS=512
options SEMMSL=61
options SEMMNU=256
options SEMMAP=256
Will the above syntax work in the NetBSD configuration
file? Are there differences in NetBSD from FreeBSD
that would affect the values I use?
The above works well in FreeBSD; and according to
PostgreSQL documentation, the syntax works in both
FreeBSD and OpenBSD. Unfortunately, there is not
mention of NetBSD.
I would appreciate any advice.
Thank you,
Andrew Gould
