hi all,
does anybody know what i have to do to get the NetGear GA-621 card to operate
properly? i asked this question on 6/29, and was told it was supported under
the gsip driver
(http://mail-index.netbsd.org/current-users/2002/06/29/0011.html)
but $ man gsip shows a section in the BUGS section stating that this driver
does not support fiber optic cards, which the ga-621 is. the chipset is the
same as the ga-622, but there's some differences, apparently.
i tried the card under -current 1.5ZC (i386) (src from about 3.5 months ago).
the kernel recognised the card, but could not determine any media types. when
i tried to manuall set it via ifconfig, i got an error
ifconfig: gsip0: no link type?
i'm currently recompiling the kernel with -current 1.6C (i386) (from last
week), in hopes that something has changed with gsip since then.
anyone have any more information?
