Yes, I use this trick with another machine. But I have to power down my
firewall each night. To do the shutdown, I either use ssh or a special button
I attached to pc's case that calls `shutdown -h now'. So serial console is not
an option (the computer next to the machine is always powered down when it is
time to shutdown the firewall).
