And the inclusion of the code is optional in the first place.  Surely
this is good enough for all the naysayers?

I would like to see this functionality included somehow (by the
"somehow" I mean how it is controlled); I have a box that hasn't had a
keyboard or screen attached for longer than I can remember that this
functionality would be perfect for.
