My laptop's kernel as of -current near 2003-08-18 without the patch
froze once in few days ago. The freezes was seemed to be left unclean
filesystems, then it was before wd_shutdown().
In another case, my box (running as a PPPoE router) still has
kernel with wd.c standby/powerdown patch, missing wm device,
and missing ACPI support, but it did not freeze against almost daily
shutdown.
