If I'm your competitor and buy one of your devices, you have to give me
the source code, and access to all the patents & IP in the product. If I
want, I can turn around and sell it to others (and give then source, etc.)
all I want. I can also pay a consultant to buy one and then do a dirty
room/clean room. That won't give access to the patents, but the IP will be
open.
