It's not a huge burden, but it's sufficiently annoying to qualify as
a hemorrhoid. Every time I build a new kernel, to have to go and rebuild
kdump is kind of a drag.
A thought: If there are utilities and such tied to the kernel (I'm not
aware of all of them, BTW), it would be nice even to have a notice or a
warning saying "Hey, you need to update kdump (and vmstat and fstat
and...and...)" printed out at the end of rebuilding the kernel. Or even
just to have a checklist of that stuff would be nice to have around.
