From my experience with unrecognized hardware in NetBSD, I never found
a *real* PCI card clone (i.e. a PCI device that behaves exactly as some other
PCI device already reconized by NetBSD, *without* quirks).
Is that a common thing ?
Another problem is the added unstability of such tool. One could
define an invalid kernel driver for the chipset and, in the worst
case, it could render the card useless.
Regards.
