Could you give me a starting point? I'm mainly messing with this from work,
on machines at home. Do I need to go -current, is -3_0 good enough?

PS: I will be more than happy to test them. Now that my fileserver is no
longer my main machine, I can tolerate half-hour-long fsck times in case the
kernel bugs out. If you'd like access to the machine (serial console, most
likely, for what it's worth on i386) it could be arranged.
