If mount(2) is ever changed to use these for extended options as I think
was hinted at by others, then you'll need it in pretty much *any* kernel.

Isn't pc532 dead anyway? :-)  Seriously, it is one of the platforms that
lacks a lot of "checkboxes" on the NetBSD ports status page.
