Was there anyone doing benchmark for 3.0 when it was in development? In
the developer circle?

I heard that linux2.6 always does benchmark including lmbench and kernel
compile time measurement so to know how much worse or better the new
changes are.

It looks like that may have been conducted in 2003 approx.
It would be nice to get some more recent benchmarks.
