I don't know about others, but I've been seeing that almost constant
stream of changes in the envsys2 interface since it was introduced with
growing annoyance.  If it was so bad in the first place, it shouldn't
have gotten in, period.

So please spend some more time on the drawing board in order to
*finalize* the API.  *Then* discuss it.  And only *then*, implement it.
