Hi, I am looking to set up a route out of a NetBSD box through a private
data network. The trouble is that that private data network doesn't know
the correct route, but it will honour an loose source route.

What I would like to do is add a route (somehow) that will add an LSR to the
packet and then send it to the first gateway on route.

I sort of had the idea that a command like

route add xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx -lsr xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx,xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx,xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

would be nice. Quite how this fits with the routing table strategy I'm not
sure. What do you think would be required to add this functionality?

If I decided to use a tun device could I achieve the same functionality?
With the tun device how bad would copying the packet hurt me?

Any ideas?
