A guy at our facility, Kevin Lahey, made the `unsigned' change to his
NetBSD 1.1 + ipv6 sources some time ago.  It didn't seem to cause
any problems at all.  I put them in my -current sources a few days
before I committed the change, and nothing broke on my systems, either.

One has to wonder why it went unchanged for so long :-)
