Currently, manually adding an IPv6 prefix to ifconfig is a bit of a pain, as
one has to manually create the host id portion.
eg
Mac address ab:ad:12:34:56:78
->
ifconfig ex0 inet6 fec0::1:abad:12ff:fe34:5678
To make things easier, I'm thinking of patching ifconfig to allow just a /64
prefix to be given with the host id added automatically by ifconfig.
Is this a bad idea?
If not, is there a preferred syntax?
eg
ifconfig ex0 inet6 fec0::1:auto/64
Thanks
