I never understood the point of a tunnel where inner and outer addresses
are identical. Probably 'cause I never ran any protocol that required
exactly 1 hop to the peer, I guess. If I'd be running such a protocol, I 
I'd be smart enough to deal with the one additional line to setup
the tunnel.

Since overall (and probably for the majority of users) this changes makes it
easier to use GRE tunnels, I'm all for doing the change and maybe adding an
entry to the network FAQ.
