What does having v6 in the kernel have to do with getaddrinfo working
for v6?  It seems to me that if a v6less kernel breaks v6 getaddrinfo,
that is a bug in getaddrinfo.  I can't see any basis for such a
dependency, with the *possible* exception of scoped v6 addresses, and
even that, the only kernel interface necessary is to map an interface
name to a scope ID; whether the kernel supports v6 ought to be
orthogonal to that.
