I have been considering a RUMP only variant of bridge(4) (probably just
bridge(4) with some -linkN flag enabled, which would work only in RUMP
kernels, f there is a free link flag available).
It could do all kinds of bogus things that sometimes happen on real
networks - but only when something is broken - of relevance here it
would loopback all packets received (as well as sending them anywhere
else relevant.)
