having only recently switched over to 1.3.3 from 1.2 (found the time
and the drives at long last), i've got a lot of "legacy" stuff in
/usr/local that is duplicated in the package system.  which i've
rebuilt in /usr/local.

is there an easy (easier) way to "forge" the installation of a package
in /var/db/pkg such that packages that depend on things that i've got
stashed in /usr/local can be used instead?  for example, instead of
rebuilding and reinstalling perl5, i did this:

cd /var/db/pkg
mkdir perl-5.004.04
touch perl-5.004.04/+REQUIRED_BY
echo bin/perl > perl-5.004.04/+CONTENTS
cp /usr/pkgsrc/lang/perl5/COMMENT perl-5.004.04/+COMMENT
cp /usr/pkgsrc/lang/perl5/DESCR perl-5.004.04/+DESC

and now weblint thinks that perl5 is installed, so i can install
it without building me another new (and unnecessary) perl.
