Yes, but you'll need to adjust the PLIST. E.g. if the package is build
with a PLIST containing paths in /usr/pkg, and I set LOCALBASE=/usr/local,
then I need these paths in my PLIST. 

(IIRC, RPM does this by a simple s,/usr/pkg,${LOCALBASE},).
