Be carefull! This has (at least with german laws) severe legal effects.
You'll have to interactively ask the user if he wishes to send the data;
any default setting to do it silently will violate laws or cause general
prerequisites to happen before the package system could be used at all
in some circumstances.

I think this will piss off more users than it does benefit (if you see 
a benefit in such statistics).
