Somebody with more insight on the internel dependencies of teTeX should
break it up into pieces.

I once was able to install TeX onto one third of a 50 MB disk.
Not being able to get a basic system onto 800 MB sounds very out of scale
to me.

No, I do not have the time to do this myself.
