Additionally, this uses a shlib, which reduces binary size overall if more
than one such package is installed.

It may depend on seeing all of:
- include files
- library
- tools in /usr/bin

The last part I plan on finishing and adding to the tree mid-November, so we
could wait until then and drop the gettext dependency for -current systems.
(1.5.x and prior will have to use the GNU gettext.)
