FYI: I've finally got artsd working... 

The audioserver has yet to extensively tested, but things look very
promising... Will make the patches available as soon as I've verified
my work and created them... (editing source code at the moment).

I've yet to get libkmid library to work which appears to be a tad more
difficult to do... time will tell
