I installed plex86-0.20010106 on my netbsd system the other day, but I'm
having problems running it with user priviliges, and it freezes the
machine hard (the mouse won't even move) when run as root. Just to be
sure, I recompiled the kernel first, then compiled plex86 and booted, so I
suppose version mismatch isn't a problem.
My kernel is:
NetBSD 1.5 (DESKPROP3) #3: Thu Jan 25 18:05:12 CET 2001
audun@vlab1:/usr/src/sys/arch/i386/compile/DESKPROP3
My /etc/lkm.conf says (on one line):
/usr/X11R6/lkm/plex86.o - - /usr/X11R6/lib/plex86/netbsd_post.sh -
AFTERMOUNT
modstat(8) says:
Type Id Off Loadaddr Size Info Rev Module Name
DEV 0 29 c9a3c000 008c c9a5d9c0 1 plex86
and /dev/plex86 is created as:
crw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 29, 0 Jan 25 18:39 /dev/plex86
Yet when I try to run plex86, I get:
vlab1:~/plex86$ plex86 -f win95.conf
Processing command-line options
Opening VM (/dev/plex86)

The win95.conf referred to is that enclosed with the plex86 package, only
the image files have been changed to something else (a dd of a win95
bootdisk).
Does anyone have some idea as to what I've missed?
Thanks in advance.
