yes, but:
* links to openssl called md2, md4, d5, etc are not installed by
default.
* i believe it ought to be part of the base system, after all...the
code is in libc; why not expose an interface to it to userland?
* having digest in pkgsrc makes sense since pkgsrc should be (and
is?) divorced from dependance on current basesrc.
presumably pkgsrc could be perverted to use the base vesions of md5 or
sha1 to validate the installation of a binary digest pkg so that other
pkgs could be installed...
pkgsrc helps basesrc and vice versa.
